Sister Maria Dolores Mairlot, was born in Asturias, Spain, a daughter of Roberto Mairlot and Maria Covadonga. She received her early education at Carmelite Sisters School, in Ubedo, Jaen. Upon graduation she pursued a career in music as a piano teacher at the Madrid Conservatorio. She returned to her studies for nursing in England. At 20, she entered the Noviciate with the Carmelite Sisters in Madrid. Sr. Maria came to the USA in January 1980 and resided in Washington, DC. Currently, she serves the Hispanic community in Religious Education for children and adults. She also serves on the team to prepare couples for marriage and is the Director of the Hispanic and bilingual choirs.
