Fr. John Olson
Fr. John Olson joined St. Michael the Archangel/Mary Mother of Peace Parish as Parochial Vicar in July 2018.
Fr. Olson is the son of Kevin Olson and Suzanne Fornal Olson of Long Island New York. He graduated cum laude from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and History with a business certificate. He earned a Master of Science degree in International Relations from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force and was assigned, for a time, at Dover Air Force base in Dover, Delaware. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 2002 with the rank of Captain.
Fr. Olson earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology degree from Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange, New Jersey, and was ordained by Bishop Michael A. Saltarelli on May 19, 2007, at Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Wilmington. Fr. Olson has ministered as Associate Pastor at the following parishes of the Diocese of Wilmington: Our Lady of Fatima, Saints Peter & Paul, and Church of the Holy Cross. He did a year of missionary work with the Neo-Catechetical Movement, and was assigned to St. Joseph on the Brandywine in Greenville, DE.
