Religious Education Registration for the 2026-2027 School Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,


We are sending home registration forms for next year’s Religious Education classes. Please complete and return them as soon as possible. Kindly note that registration will close on August 25, 2026.


Each family should complete one Religious Education Registration form for their children, as well as a Sacramental Registration form for each child preparing to receive a sacrament.


Children may begin sacramental preparation at the start of their second year in Religious Education and will receive the sacrament at the end of that year. Please register for Sacrament preparation separately.


For children seeking Penance and First Communion, they must register for and attend Penance/First Communion classes on Friday evenings. They must also register and attend Religious Education Classes on:


  • Saturday morning classes at St. Michael the Archangel or
  • Wednesday evening classes at Mary Mother of Peace


Children seeking Confirmation who have been away from Religious Education will first complete one year of faith formation before beginning Confirmation preparation. They must register and attend the high school class, Journey in Faith, held Saturday mornings at St. Michael the Archangel.


Confirmation preparation is a two-year program (Confirmation Year 1 and Year 2). Students receive the Sacrament at the end of the second year. Students must register and attend classes held on Monday evenings at St. Michael the Archangel. 


Children ages 7 to 17 seeking Baptism must register and attend OCIA Classes on Monday evenings at St. Michael the Archangel and register and attend:


  • Saturday morning classes at St. Michael the Archangel or
  • Wednesday evening classes at Mary Mother of Peace

 

As we begin the new school year in September 2026, communication will take place through WhatsApp messaging, information sent home with your child, and the Sunday bulletin. We will also post schedules on the porch of the Religious Education building.

St. Michael the Archangel


For the 2026-27 School Year:

Grades 1 through 6 and Journey in Faith


Classes are held on Saturday morning, from September to April, at St. Michael the Archangel for children in Grades 1 through 6. And also, for students in the Journey in Faith class; a study year for High School students prior to Confirmation preparation.  Two sessions are held on Saturday morning. Session 1 is from 8:30 am to 9:45 am. Session 2 is from 10:15 am to 11:30 am. Your child’s (children’s) session will be assigned at the Open House in September.   2026-2027 Calendars will be available at the Open House.


  • In grades 1 through 6, we teach using the “Alive in Christ” texts published by Our Sunday Visitor. Students encounter Sacred Scripture that is prayed with, reflected upon, studied, and applied to their daily lives. 

 

  • In the Journey in Faith classes, we teach using the “Faith Fusion” texts published by Our Sunday Visitor. The text provides a comprehensive overview of the faith built on the four-pillar structure of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each lesson connects the faith to the students' lives through prayer, reflections, activities, and stories of saints and other holy people. This class is for High School students needing an additional year of study and faith formation before entering the two-year Confirmation curriculum.


For the 2026-2027 School Year


Grades 7 and 8


Classes are held on Monday evening, from September to April, at St. Michael the Archangel from 6:30PM to 8:00 PM. Both the 7th grade and the 8th grade will meet on Monday evenings. In the SMA Hall

  • In grades 7 and 8 teach, we teach using the “Alive in Christ” texts published by Our Sunday Visitor. Students encounter Sacred Scripture that is prayed with, reflected upon, studied, and applied to their daily lives. These years of study and faith formation prepare the students to enter the two-year Confirmation curriculum. 

Mary Mother of Peace

For the 2026-27 School Year:

Classes are held on Wednesday evening, from September to May, at Mary Mother of Peace. Session 1, for Grade 1 through 6 and  Session 2, for Grade 4 through 8. Your child’s (children’s) session will be assigned at the Open House in September.  2026-2027 Calendars will be available at the Open House.

In grades 1 through 8 we teach using “Gospel Weeklies”  published by Pflaum Publishing Group. Anchored by each Sunday’s Gospel, these attractive lessons provide a liturgical catechesis that connects the Gospel to doctrine, using current events, interesting activities, thought-provoking discussion questions, and examples of real young people making a difference in the world.

Children will meet in the Religious Education Building from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
